On September 27, 2023, Nancy gave the annual Sharon Thesen Lecture at the University of British Columbia.

In July- August 2023, Nancy was a visiting scholar at Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology in Bhubenswar, Odisha, India. While there, she gave an address to the School of Social, Financial and Human Sciences, taught a one-month workshop on "Creative Writing and Climate Change," and gave two lectures, "The Idea of Home in Canadian Literature" and "Creative Writing Pedagogy."

In September 2019 for ArtWalk: Teresa Posyniak exhibited her ponderosa pine paintings at the Christine Klassen Gallery. Nancy attended the launch with a chapbook of an essay on Teresa's paintings and some of Nancy's ponderosa poems.

Environmental Leader Award
A local newspaper, the Capital News, gave me their 2019 Environmental Leader award. I was honored to receive it for my work on Border Free Bees- harnessing art to scientific knowledge to raise awareness of native pollinators.
